It can be done quicker than that and there are different endings to uncover in subsequent playthroughs, which add to the otherwise relatively short runtime for the game.Īlthough short, Apsulov: End of Gods is a well-produced game from a smaller studio with an entertaining story and solid visuals on top of a good audio track. The game is also highly story-driven, and there’s an interesting narrative, brought to life by some quality voice acting over the course of a five to six hour adventure. Your robotic arm is your line of defense against them, but your energy blast is only available if you have enough charge for it – this never turns into a full-on action game and you’ll be doing plenty of sneaking about and finding alternate routes. A few creepy human/animal hybrids definitely won’t look out of place during the Halloween season next month, and some of the action scenes really get the blood pumping as well. Some of the character designs in Apsulov give the game a bit of horror flavoring as well. It’s a solid mix of visual styles – one that adds to the mystery of the core narrative. There’s a mix of elements here that you can explore from a first person perspective, with sections that unfold slowly and let you enjoy the environment as well as more action-oriented sequences. The world of Apsulov, with its combination of sci-fi and influences from northern mythology, reminded us of the excellent atmosphere-rich work by Stormling Studios in games like Conarium and Transient. Who are you? What’s happening, and where do you go from here? You manage to escape, but this is only the start of your adventure. Developed and Angry Demon Studio and published for consoles by Digerati digitally and Perp Games in a physical form, we took a look at the PlayStation 5 version of the game.Īpsulov: End of Gods starts off strong, as we find our female lead on some kind of operating table out of a sci-fi setting, while a robotic voice makes it clear they don’t necessarily have your best intentions at heart. The game will be released in summer 2021 on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.Originally released on PC, Apsulov: End of Gods has now made the leap to current/last and new/next generation consoles. The Last Resort is the single player experience of Dustwind with new controls and reworked UI for a great console experience. You’ll have to make quick tactical decisions if you want to survive! Sneak, aim for bodyparts, use varied weapons and ammo, drive vehicles, deploy turrets and barricades, use the environment to your advantage, trick and flank your enemies and set or disarm traps!ĭustwind is a post-apocalyptical realtime tactic action game and was first released 2018 for PC (Steam). Collect weapons and gear, develop your character based on your gameplay preferences, and become a leading figure in these dark times! The emotional story campaign will lead you through intense 16 missions, each one raising the stakes even higher than the last one. If you don’t act carefully and clever, you won’t stand a chance! During this adventure, it will occur to you that it’s not only your own fate that is at stake but much, much more… Without your memory and hopelessly outnumbered you go on a crusade, fighting your way through your tormentors in order to take revenge. These are hard times in the wasteland! You are the nameless heroine! A vicious assault has hit you hard. The game will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.Īfter the apocalypse the civilization as we know it has come to an end and the few people left alive have to fight each other in order to survive. Z-Software GmbH, a game development studio, most know for Autobahn Police Simulator series, is happy to announce that it will be releasing a console version of its real time post-apocalyptic tactical game, Dustwind – The Last Resort.

Google trends real time1/9/2024 Rising related topics/queries have the biggest increase in search frequency compared to the previous time period and expressed as a percent. Then, link together topics that you write about that people are also interested in. Optimize your evergreen content for the most popular long-tail terms and build additional pieces of journalism around the most popular trends. Top related topics/terms are great keywords for looking at the consistency of traffic to content on this subject. A value of 100 on the scale is the most commonly searched topic/term, while a value of 50 is a topic searched half as often. Top related topics/terms show the most popular terms/topics overall on a relative scale of 0 to 100. By looking at only the search term, you are limiting the search to your chosen language. Topics also provide information for that group of terms in any language (for example: “maple leafs de toronto” in French would be included in the “Toronto Maple Leafs” topic). If you searched the topic, “Toronto Maple Leafs,” the Google Trends data will include all keyword data related to the Leafs – “maple leafs,” “nhl playoffs 2022,” “ leafs playoffs schedule ” and so on. It provides a picture of the topic in its entirety, including all related search terms.įor example, for the term “toronto maple leafs,” Google returns search interest trend for only that specific keyword. Topics, meanwhile, provide data on a collection of search terms related to the topic you’re researching. Your focus is narrow and granular on a single keyword. Search terms provide you data on the specific keyword you’re looking at in its native form, and will only show you the relative volume of that term. Google Trends gives you the option to define your analysis as search terms or topics, depending on your keyword research needs. Caret confusion matrix1/9/2024 This would indicate that the classifiers have different error rates. That is, that the p-value of the test is less than 0.05. In the second scenario you would probably look for the opposite. A significant value here would indicate that your algorithm misclassifies one label more than another. In your confusion matrix above, these proportions are calculated from cells AB and BA. That is, do not reject the null hypothesis that assumes homogeneity of the proportion of misclassified cases for the two class labels. In the first scenario you would normally look for the p-value of the test to be greater than 0.05. The second scenario is when you are comparing two classification models (algorithms). the reference data (test data or possibly training data). The first one is that you are evaluating the quality of your model vs. Here I explain what I have learned so far.įirst of all, it is important to know that there are two different scenarios in the context of machine learning. The main reason is that both the historical origin of the test (Genetics), as well as its common use in the medical and social science fields, make its interpretation difficult in the context of machine learning. It is normal that you have been confused when looking for McNemar's test interpretation on the Internet. Have answered you before, so here I will focus more on the context. This is an interesting question that has different answers according to the context. Mat caret::confusionMatrix(as.table(mat)) Providing some reproducible examples mirrored from here: #significant p-value Lastly, does this interpretation change if more classes or involved? For example a contingency matrix of 3x3 or larger. How would one approach such a circumstance? Am I correct to interpret a significant McNemar test to mean that the proportion of classes is different between the testing classes and the predicted classes?Ī second, but more general, followup question would be how should this factor in to interpreting the performance of a predictive model? For example, as reflected in the 1st example below, in some circumstances 75% accuracy may be considered great but the proportion of predicted classes may be different (assuming my understanding of a significant McNemar test is accurate). In this case, I would be comparing predicted classes vs. Everything I read about McNemar talks about comparing between before and after a 'treatment'. Could someone kindly help me understand the interpretation of the McNemar Test on a predictive model contingency table? This is applied and the P-Value returned from the R function caret::confusionMatrix. Accuracy, Kappa, AUC-ROC, etc.) but I am uncertain regarding the McNemar test. Many of these appear relatively straightforward to me (e.g. Names(confusion) <- c('FALSE', 'TRUE', 'class. There are many metrics to evaluate the performance of predictive model. confusion.glm cutoffĬ(1 - confusion / rowSums(confusion),ġ - confusion / rowSums(confusion))) Below gives that version, with some added flexibility for providing new data or not and a customizable cutoff value. In comparing against randomForest confusion matrices, I find it easier to have true values on the left margin and predicted values on the top margin, as that's what randomForest presents. No way am I going through this many steps for that though. Anyway, now I’m breathing in the AIR experience - beauty! Hopefully anyone else out there googling “Mac OS X AIR installer doesn’t work” – will find this now, instead of nothing. Too bad Adobe doesn’t plainly say so on the download site. on my lunch hour (heh heh – no, I wasn’t just there yesterday and the day before that…) flipping through the new O’Reilly pocket guide on AIR, and I stumbled on the fact that you have to be running OS X 10.4.8 or higher to install AIR. Just happened to be at Stacey’s in downtown S.F. So far, I haven’t been able to find any mentions via Google. I’m using the one from “air_b1_mac_061107.dmg” (currently on the Adobe web site as of 9/15/07.) It just blows up as soon as I double-click it, with “The application quit unexpectedly” dialog. The Unix under the shiny aqua interface of Mac OS X is very Case sensitive. Try changing “/applications/airsdk/bin” to “/tom/applications/airsdk/bin” and see if that works for you. Looks like you don’t have the right path specified in your $PATH I’ve got the SDK in /tom/applications/airsdk. bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/applications/airsdk/bin I still can’t get this to work thought! No errors are thrown during the steps and when I do and echo $PATH I get, Tags: adobe, air, installation, mac, sdk, software Having recently spoke at the Atlanta stop of the OnAir tour, I can attest that developers are building exciting things with AIR… hopefully this will help a few others join those legions. I will try to keep this updated as I hear from folks. If this works for you, too (or, if it does not), drop me a line in the Comments section.
Message queue1/9/2024 This solves the problem of latency and resilience by using Ably directly from the publishing client, but it does introduce a new problem: data in EU is never unnecessarily routed through the US You lose the benefits of a global resilient realtime platform that routes data efficiently i.e.If your servers are unable to cope with a sudden burst of realtime data then the lat/long data is lost.Any latency in your own servers will affect your clients.I’ve seen other realtime platforms mostly recommend approaching this problem in one of three ways:Īll data that would have been broadcast in real time is instead sent as an HTTP request to your own servers. Trigger actions as part of your workflow when a vehicle reaches its destination or when it’s delayed. For example, you may want to store the most recent lat/long every 15 seconds. Persist roll up data for the vehicle’s GPS locations into your backend database. When pub/sub feels like forcing a square peg into a round holeĮxpanding on the example above, if you were to build a complete vehicle tracking system, you may have additional requirements to: Any number of devices can subscribe to updates on the channel dedicated to the vehicle, and those devices will see the position of the vehicle in real time.As the publishing client receives an acknowledgement (ACK), then it can trust that the data has been broadcasted successfully. The vehicle publishing its location is decoupled from anyone subscribing to messages. The pub/sub pattern and Ably's platform is a good fit because: If you set out to build a similar GPS delivery tracking system, the flow of data between the vehicles and consumers wishing to track parcels may look something like this: Take a company like Urbantz that rely on Ably to broadcast the position of vehicles as they traverse our roads. A typical scenario where the pub/sub pattern works well Queue based patterns on the other hand typically require that each message is received only once by a single subscriber in a linear yet distributed fashion, often to be processed by workers. This pattern is used by most realtime messaging providers, including Ably. Finally, I look at the solution to this problem.Ī pub/sub pattern is designed so that each message published is received by any number of subscribers. In this article I explore the juxtaposition of a pub/sub fan-out messaging pattern and a queue based pattern, and why both are sometimes needed. You can also read our recent post on SQS FIFO Queues, which looks at why converting a distributed system to FIFO and exactly-once message processing requires considerable user effort and what to bear in mind if planning to implement this. Xcom long war meld1/9/2024 Nothing a short gene-therapy session wouldn’t fix. Creases had began to form on her narrow cheeks, while her short brown hair was graying out. The air conditioner fans were whirring softly, cool air blowing into the compartment.įifty years old, the tolls of age had begun to appear on Faulke’s visage. Locked into her seat in the red-lit troop bay of the rear, Commander Elisa Faulke breathed, taking in the sterile aroma of the troop hold. This one was the standard troop-carrier sub-variant. A Commander could count himself fortunate to have just a squadron of them With ability came expense, and Phantom Rangers were certainly expensive and rare. They also had the capacity to carry bombs and recon equipment, if needed. They were designed to drop troops, vehicles and supplies without ever making any indication that they were there. Built with the same technology that once allowed Ethereal stealth ships to prowl the Earth’s skies unmolested, the Phantom Ranger, like its alien counterpart, was invisible to anything short of a high-end Hyperwave Scanner, and equipped with Ghost field generators that made it invisible to the naked eye as well. Not that anyone would ever glance upon it the Phantom Ranger was the stealth variant of the ubiquitous Star Ranger. Pure, golden sunlight shone off the unbroken dark silver Vahlenite-Shenium skin and the Cydonium canopy, from where pilot and co-pilot handled the vessel. Resembling a hiltless dagger with a thin blade, from the crossguard-like wings, tapering down to a hooking point at the nose. The Phantom Ranger was an unbroken, smooth elongated teardrop. More man than alien, the Phantom Ranger was part of the vanguard, the new kind of vessel, sharing a design philosophy with the Olympus-class battleship, and Chariot-class Assault Carriers. The Phantom Ranger was thirty metres of elegant engineering. Kilometre long contrails stretched behind the ship, racing to catch up with the green blur generated by its twin gravity-wave elerium engines, nestled in the roots of the Star Ranger’s forward-swept wings, flanking the rear exit ramp. One's a minor but extremely common issue: species names aren't capitalized in Mass Effect, just how we don't capitalize "human." Organizations and proper nouns are capitalized, so Citadel, Spectre, and Turian Hierarchy would be capitalized, but not turian.Ī Phantom Ranger swept above the clouds, energy shielding and hooked nose streaking through the atmosphere at seven times the speed of sound. Maybe you could indicate there is a small risk of hitting something they didn't chart or didn't notice, but that the chances are literally astronomical. Later on you mention that getting within a thousand kilometers of the target is a good, on-target jump for a Navigator, which is pinpoint precise when you're talking about interplanetary ranges.īasically, unless they're hitting a completely uncharted system and under a major time crunch, and no astronomers have pointed any telescopes at the system recently, they should have a decent idea of what to avoid and be able to jump into the vast sections of the system with nothing in them. The data might be a year or more out of date, but you can extrapolate orbital patterns and object locations to figure out where stuff is generally located and just jump again to a spot that's perfectly safe. You're talking literally millions of kilometers between most objects in any given star system, and if you're not really sure what's in the system you can just exit FTL outside the star system and check to see what it's up to. isn't really that much of a concern, as space is actually really, really, really empty. Green twig salon1/9/2024 When the stylist I use was out due to a hand injury, I had a cut with another stylist. The salon states this on signs, so they make their position on children clear, but this isn’t convenient for a single parent. If you are a parent, this is not the salon for you, as your children are «persona non grata». My biggest complain is that the salon is not kid friendly. I was encouraged as I’m a big Aveda fan, having used their hair product for 10+ years. That is how I found the salon, which is in my neighbourhood. I used Green Twig as a great stylist changed to this salon from the Barber Lounge. It’s pricey, but the service is excellent and worth it. They are always helpful in getting me tea (Stash, no less). I also have never had to wait for her to be available she always finishes with prior clients right on time. I never feel like she is trying to market any of the products or treatments in a creepy way, and have been trying out certain products with great results. And you can’t beat the free moisturizing arm and hand massage! She is also very knowledgeable about the Aveda products and talks to me candidly through the pros and cons of certain shampoos and conditioners. We either talk or don’t, it’s very natural. I like my salon visits since Alyssa is so cheerful, pleasant, and calm. I get frequent compliments about how I look great these days (and younger, I am 40) and it is because of what Alyssa has done for my hair! Somehow the combination of bangs, color, and highlights, all recommended by Alyssa, have made a big difference. I have been seeing Alyssa since April and she has transformed my hair. I just left the salon after my 5 th visit here and feel compelled to write my first Unilocal review ever. Over the last few years, we’ve become really good friends and I always look forward to getting my hair done! If you’re looking for someone who is fabulous at cutting/coloring hair, providing great conversation and just a really wonderful experience, Carla is your girl! I used to tell her exactly what I wanted with my hair, but within the last year a half, I walk in with an idea of a color and give her free reign she exceeds my expectations every time! In addition, she gives tips and advice about how to take care of my hair using products or just techniques. I have a lot of thick, curly, crazy hair and somehow she always does a great job. I switched to Carla on a date where Jess was unavailable, but both women are great! Carla is absolutely amazing at coloring and cutting my hair. Jess was fabulous, and still cuts my mom’s hair on a regular basis. I LOVE getting my hair done at this salon because of the phenomenal service. I’ve had a few cuts with Jess, but a majority with Carla. I’ve been getting my hair cut at Green Twig for about 3 years. I am so happy with my haircut, Carla did a great job and I’ll definitely be back as a regular. My brother’s wedding is this weekend and I needed something soft and pretty with shape and volume and she nailed it. We were on the same page immediately and I felt very comfortable and confident that I would get exactly what I wanted to achieve - a trim of several inches with long face framing layers and long fringe. I had an idea of what I wanted and she also made great suggestions too. Carla was fantastic and I felt a connection with her right away. I love going to a salon for me time, I consider it a pampering experience and it’s important to me that I feel comfortable and well taken care of. I appreciate that they use Aveda products and although the salon is small, it’s comfortable and has a cozy atmosphere. Everyone I met from the front desk to the other stylists were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I had my hair cut by Carla today for the first time and I couldn’t be happier. Sana a manuscripts1/9/2024 Both scripts are of the Hijazi type: firstly, a dark brown script is part of surah 20:1–10 (surah Taahaa or al-kamiyl). The palimpsest codex shows two layers of script. The parchment upon which the lower codex is written has been radiocarbon dated with 99% accuracy to before 671 AD, with a 95.5% probability of being older than 661 AD and 75% probability from before 646 AD. This was an ancient way of recycling.) Alternatively, the standardization of the Qur'anic text by 'Uthmān may have led to the non-standard lower text becoming obsolete, and thereby erased. When enough of a manuscript's writing wore off-ink does not bond to parchment like it does to paper-all of the writing was washed off to make the expensive parchment usable for a new text. (This was a common practice in ancient times. A number of reasons may have led to erasure of the lower text: some pages of the codex may have been destroyed or worn out, thereby requiring the production of a new codex, for which the already available parchment was used. The lower text of the manuscript was erased and written over, but due to the presence of metals in the ink, the lower text has resurfaced, and now appears in a light brown color. Carl Ernst, an Islamic studies scholar, states that the manuscripts "do not appear to have any startling or major changes but belong to the class of minor textual variations that have been known for centuries." Variants occur much more frequently in the Sana'a codex, which contains "by a rough estimate perhaps twenty-five times as many ". Such variants are similar to the ones reported for the Qur'an codices of Companions such as Ibn Mas'ud and Ubayy b. For example, in sura 2, verse 87, the lower text has wa-qaffaynā 'alā āthārihi whereas the standard text has wa-qaffaynā min ba'dihi. While the upper text is almost identical with the modern Qur'ans in use (with the exception of spelling variants), the lower text contains significant diversions from the standard text. Of special importance is a palimpsest with two layers of text, both of which are Qur'anic. The preserved fragments comprise Qur'anic and non-Qur'anic material. Al-Akwa' sought international assistance in examining and preserving the fragments, and in 1979 managed to interest a visiting German scholar, who in turn persuaded the West German government to organize and fund a restoration project. Qadhi Isma'il al-Akwa', then the president of the Yemeni Antiquities Authority, realized the potential importance of the find. Not realizing their significance, the workers gathered up the documents, packed them away into some twenty potato sacks, and left them on the staircase of one of the mosque's minarets. In 1972, construction workers renovating a wall in the attic of the Great Mosque of Sana'a in Yemen came across large quantities of old manuscripts and parchments, many of which were deteriorated. Radiocarbon analysis has dated the parchment containing the lower text to before 671 AD with a 99% accuracy. The upper text conforms to the standard 'Uthmanic Qur'an, whereas the lower text contains many variants to the standard text. The manuscript is written on parchment, and comprises two layers of text (see palimpsest). It was found, along with many other Qur'anic and non-Qur'anic fragments, in Yemen in 1972 during restoration of the Great Mosque of Sana'a. The Sana'a palimpsest is one of the oldest Qur'anic manuscripts in existence. AuthorWrite something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview. ArchivesCategories |
